This is DHS's basic philosophy and drives how we do business. It is reflected in the team of Debt Specialists at DHS, who have backgrounds in the financial and credit fields, who talk straight to the Home Morgage consumers they work with and help them find straight forward solutions to their debt problems. Each Debt Specialist currently working for DHS has a minimum of 10 years experience working directly with consumers on their finances.

To our knowledge, there is no other company in the country like DHS. We combine education and coaching with full service debt negotiation and settlement at a cost that is unmatched in our field. Given the heightened scrutiny the debt relief industry is receiving these days, DHS is seen as an innovator and an example of Bankruptcy fairness and best practices. In other words, we are setting a standard bankruptcy for other firms in our industry.

Six years ago when DHS's founders first got together to form what is now known as DHS, we had completed thousands of hours of research and attended many industry events and seminars. We also attended the annual bankruptcy National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) conference held in 2004. (NCLC is focused on protecting consumers' rights and on the passage of laws and regulations to provide fairness in the market place.) That event had a profound effect on the direction we ultimately took DHS. We were so affected by the Debt Leads people we met at the conference and the messages we heard there that in the 20 states where DHS cannot charge a contingency fee for settling consumers' debts, we ask those consumers to voluntarily donate the amount of that fee directly to or to a low income legal aid office in their area.
